LPIC-1 is the initial certification within LPI’s multi-level Linux professional certification program. It serves as a validation of a candidate’s capability to perform maintenance tasks through the command line, install and configure Linux on a computer, and set up basic networking.

The LPIC-1 certification is designed to align with current industry research and assess a candidate’s competence in real-world system administration. The exam objectives are derived from job task analysis surveys conducted during the exam development process.

This course comprehensively covers a range of topics including Linux command-line tools, software management, hardware configuration, filesystems, the X Window System, the boot process, scripting, security, documentation, administration, and networking.
